After successful stints first with Intercontinental Airlines and later with Okada Airlines in the 1990’s – then Nigeria’s foremost private carrier, he joined the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria in 1996 as Senior Special Assistant to the then Managing Director. He became an influential member of the then management team that transformed the organization and repositioned it for the aviation world of the 21st Century. It was also during this period that Nigeria hosted the ICAO international conference for the first time. In his desire to continue flying and move to the next level as a professional pilot he joined Das Air Cargo where he rose to become one of the Carriers DC10 pilots. He left the services of Das Air and founded his own Cargo Airline business in 1998 and has been the Managing Director of Allied Air Limited since then. In addition to the position of Managing Director of Allied Air, Val Tongo also sits on the Board of other Nigerian Companies in which he has substantial interest/equity.

Of course hard work and competence barely goes unnoticed as he was appointed a member of the Ministerial Committee on Aviation and a Board member of Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) until 2012. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, he is an epitome of the Nigerian nay Continental Aviation Industry and he continues to devote enormous time and resources on research and developments in the Aviation Industry.

These achievements and milestones are in line with Captain Val Tongo’s vision of taking Allied Air to the peak of Africa’s aviation industry.
